Getting Started

Welcome to PaperChunk — a Minecraft server hosting platform that lets you launch and manage your own server in minutes.

Creating Your Account

  1. Visit paperchunk.com and click Create Your Server
  2. Enter your name and email address
  3. You'll receive a 6-digit verification code — enter it to activate your account

Creating Your First Server

  1. After logging in, go to My Servers
  2. Click New Server
  3. Choose a name for your server (lowercase, 3-30 characters). This becomes your subdomain: yourserver.paperchunk.com
  4. Select a plan (Wood, Stone, Iron, Diamond, Netherite, or Dragon)
  5. Complete the payment via Stripe
  6. Your server will be provisioned automatically — this usually takes 3-10 minutes

Setting Up Your Server

Once your server shows as Active:

  1. Go to the Control tab of your server
  2. Choose a server core — this determines how your server runs:
    • Paper — the most popular choice, supports plugins, great performance
    • Purpur — Paper fork with extra features and configurability
    • Spigot — classic Bukkit-based server with plugin support
    • Vanilla — the official Mojang server, no mods
    • Fabric — lightweight modding platform (uses mods, not plugins)
  3. Select the Minecraft version you want to run (e.g. 1.21.4)
  4. Click Download to install the server core
  5. Once downloaded, click Start to launch your server

Your server will start up and you'll see the console output in real time. The first start takes a bit longer as the server generates the world.

Connecting to Your Server

Once your server is running and shows Online:

  1. Open Minecraft (Java Edition)
  2. Click MultiplayerAdd Server
  3. Enter your server address: yourserver.paperchunk.com
  4. Click Join Server

Bedrock Edition

Bedrock players can also connect using the same address via the GeyserMC plugin (pre-installed on all servers). Use port 19132.
