Referral Program

Invite friends to PaperChunk and earn rewards! Our referral program lets you earn credits toward your hosting costs and gives your friends a discount on their first server.

How It Works

  1. Share your link — Go to the Referral page in your dashboard to find your unique referral link and code
  2. Friend signs up — When someone creates an account using your link (or enters your code), they're linked to you as a referrer
  3. Friend buys a server — Your friend gets 10% off their first month on any plan
  4. You earn credits — Starting from their second monthly payment, you receive €1 credit each time they pay

You can also share just your referral code — your friend can enter it manually on the Referral page after signing up.

Rewards

For You (the Referrer)

  • €1 credit for each referred user's recurring monthly payment
  • Credits are automatically applied to your next invoice via Stripe
  • No limit on how many people you can refer
  • Track your earnings and referral count on the Referral page

For Your Friend (the Referred User)

  • 10% discount on their first month of any plan
  • The discount is applied automatically at checkout

When Do Credits Start?

Credits are earned starting from your friend's second monthly payment, not the first. This means:

  • Month 1: Your friend pays (with 10% discount) → no credit yet
  • Month 2: Your friend pays → you receive €1 credit
  • Month 3: Your friend pays → you receive €1 credit
  • ...and so on for as long as they remain subscribed

This policy protects against abuse and ensures credits are only awarded for active, ongoing subscriptions.

How Credits Work

Your earned credits are stored as Stripe customer balance. When your next invoice is generated, Stripe automatically deducts available credits before charging your payment method.

Example: Your plan costs €16/month and you have €3 in credits. Your next charge will be €13.

Important Notes

  • The 10% referral discount can only be used once per account (on the first server purchase)
  • Credits are earned only on recurring payments, not on the initial subscription
  • If a referred user cancels their subscription, you stop earning credits from them
  • Referral credits cannot be withdrawn as cash — they can only be used toward PaperChunk hosting
  • You must have an active account to earn and use referral credits

FAQ

Can I refer myself? No. You cannot use your own referral code when creating an account.

Is there a limit on referrals? No. You can refer as many people as you want and earn credits from all of them.

Do credits expire? No. Your credits remain on your Stripe balance until used.

Can I combine referral discount with a promo code? No. The referral discount replaces any promo code at checkout. You can use a promo code on a future purchase instead.
